Anne Kinniment's Embroidery

Home Gallery Events Where They Are Cards Project

Anne makes embroidered pictures using a combination of painting, appliqué, machine and hand embroidery.  Her main interest is the textures shapes and colours found in plants and gardens and a lot of her work is inspired by her garden and the Northumberland countryside.

Anne has been exhibiting and selling her work for the past twenty years, both here and with the Embroiderer’s Guild.  Her work appeals to gardeners and she obtained a Royal Horticultural Society silver gilt medal at the Garden festival, Gateshead in 1990.  Her embroideries are featured in several books by Thomasina Beck including the latest:  “Gardening With Silk and Gold Thread”.  In 1999 Anne took part in an embroidery exhibition on English gardens in Tokyo, Japan, and contributed a design to the Embroiderer’s Guild “Stitch” magazine
